ON Jan 1, 2020, the International Maritime Organisation (IMO) is set to impose new emission regulations designed to curb pollution produced by the world’s ships. The new IMO rule is poised to ban shipping vessels using fuel with a sulphur content higher than 0.5 per cent. At present, the upper limit on sulphur oxides is 3.5pc, unless the ships are equipped with exhaust-cleaning systems known as scrubbers, down from 3.5pc. The change is drastic. LAHORE: The government on Saturday said that supply of natural gas to general industrial units, mainly in Punjab, would be restored from Tuesday following resumption of supply from the Mol gas field and provision of increased amounts of Re-gasified Liquefied Natural Gas (RLNG). KARACHI: Despite opening of CNG stations from 7am to 7pm on Sunday, many consumers faced problems due to low gas pressure at stations while many pumps remained inoperative due to very low pressure of gas supply from the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL), CNG station owners complained.
