The Asian Development Bank (ADB) has approved “Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Water Resources Development Project” with concessional ordinary capital resources lending of $3.60 million. Iran starts construction of new nuclear power plant

Iran has begun the construction of a new nuclear plant in the southwestern province of Khuzestan, the country’s atomic energy agency said Saturday. Mohammad Eslami, the head of the Atomic Energy Organization of Iran, announced in televised remarks the start of construction of the 300-megawatt Karun power plant in the Darkhovin district of Khuzestan. The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) of the Cabinet has approved the allocation of Rs8.109 billion through a technical supplementary grant to the power sector for the execution of development schemes in the provinces –with the highest amount of Rs6.554 billion in Punjab – under “Sustainable Development Goals Achievement Program” (SAP) during the current fiscal year.
