Sindh Cabinet Sub-Committee Approves Solarization of Cadet College Petaro and Rs.885 Million for KWSSIP Phase-II

Karachi: The Finance Sub-Committee of the Sindh Cabinet, chaired by Provincial Minister for Energy and Planning *Syed Nisar Hussain Shah, has approved the *solarization of Cadet College Petaro at an estimated cost of Rs. 25 crore. The initiative aims to ensure an uninterrupted power supply for students, enhancing their academic environment and overall training experience.

The meeting, also attended by Interior, Law, and Parliamentary Affairs Minister Zia-ul-Hassan Lanjhar, reviewed the financial challenges confronting various provincial institutions and discussed strategic solutions.

A major decision taken during the session was the approval of Rs. 885 million for *Phase-II of the Karachi Water and Sewerage Services Improvement Project (KWSSIP). The allocation was made following recommendations from the committee to support infrastructure development aligned with *Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s vision and the Chief Minister’s directives for public welfare and fast-tracked development.

Additionally, the committee greenlit funding for the Malir Water Supply Scheme and ongoing USAID-supported programs, emphasizing timely execution. The ministers reiterated that the sub-committee operates with consensus, legal compliance, and efficiency to eliminate bottlenecks in critical public projects.
