Sindh Energy Minister Shah Chairs High-Level Review Meeting on Ongoing Energy Projects

Karachi – May 24, 2025: Sindh Minister for Energy, Planning, and Development Syed Nasir Hussain Shah chaired a high-level review meeting to assess the progress of ongoing development projects under the Energy Department and to evaluate proposed schemes for the upcoming fiscal year 2025-26.

During the meeting, the minister emphasized that *all ongoing energy projects must be completed within their stipulated timelines, ensuring *transparency and merit throughout the process.

The session was attended by *Chairman Planning & Development Board Najam Ahmed Shah, **Energy Secretary Mushtaq Ahmed Soomro, **Project Director (SSEP) Mahfooz Qazi, *CEO STDC Saleem Sheikh, and heads of other relevant departments.

Officials briefed the minister in detail on the current status of various ongoing schemes and also presented the proposed development plans for the next fiscal year. Shah instructed that all bottlenecks hindering the progress of ongoing schemes should be promptly addressed.

The meeting also included an in-depth review of proposed projects for the fiscal year *2025-26, with the minister directing that *all legal and procedural formalities be completed in advance to ensure timely implementation.

Highlighting the importance of donor-funded initiatives, the minister called for the preparation of budgetary proposals for incomplete World Bank-supported projects, ensuring their timely completion as well.

Speaking on the occasion, Najam Ahmed Shah assured full support from the Planning & Development Department in facilitating project preparation and documentation. He encouraged departments to seek assistance from the P\&D’s technical team in case of any difficulties.
