Moonis Alvi Reappointed as CEO of K-Electric, Effective July 30

KARACHI: K-Electric has officially reappointed Syed Moonis Abdullah Alvi as its Chief Executive Officer (CEO), extending his leadership role effective from July 30, 2025. The announcement was made through a notification to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday.

Alvi, who first took over as CEO in June 2018, has been instrumental in steering the company through a period of transformation, spearheading major investments across the energy value chain. Among the most notable is the development of a 900MW RLNG-fired power plant, aimed at enhancing the city’s power generation capacity.

Having joined KE in 2008, Alvi previously served as Chief Financial Officer, Company Secretary, and Head of Treasury. With over 30 years of experience in finance, financial planning, and capital restructuring, he is a Fellow of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan.

In a recent interaction with media, Alvi outlined his strategic vision: “KE should deliver reliable and sustainable electricity in a safe manner. We aim to enhance our technical capabilities to continuously upgrade the system and align with global advancements.”

His reappointment reflects the company’s confidence in his leadership as K-Electric continues to navigate challenges and pursue modernization in Pakistan’s largest metropolitan city.
