FAISALABAD: In line with the vision of Prime Minister’s “Digital Pakistan” initiative, Faisalabad Electric Supply Company (FESCO) has launched the innovative “Apna Meter, Apna Reading” program on the special directives of Federal Minister for Energy Awais Leghari and FESCO CEO Engr. Muhammad Aamer.
This groundbreaking initiative enables electricity consumers to submit their own meter readings via the Power Smart App, enhancing transparency, efficiency, and accountability in the billing process. According to a FESCO spokesperson, the program aims to reduce overbilling and human errors while empowering consumers to take control of their electricity usage data.
Consumers can download the Power Smart App from the Google Play Store or Apple App Store, register using their consumer ID, and upload a photo of their meter reading on the designated reading date. The image submitted by the user will take precedence over readings taken by FESCO’s staff, and the final bill will be generated based on the consumer-submitted data. Bills generated under this system will be clearly marked “Apna Meter Apni Reading” and will include the uploaded image.
The spokesperson added that the initiative is especially beneficial for consumers in the protected category, helping them avoid automatic reclassification due to delayed readings.
FESCO has urged consumers to follow safety guidelines while taking meter photos, emphasizing that customer safety remains a top priority.
