KARACHI: In line with the vision of Pakistan People’s Party Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari to transition Sindh towards solar energy, Sindh Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah formally inaugurated the “Solar Homes” project in Lyari today. The event was attended by Member of Sindh Assembly from Lyari, Yousuf Baloch, and Special Assistant to Chief Minister Sindh, Usman Hingoro.

This project reflects Bilawal Bhutto Zardari’s sustainable and pro-people vision to make Sindh Pakistan’s first fully solar-powered province, where households, educational institutions, healthcare centers, and commercial needs are all powered by solar energy.

Speaking at the inauguration, Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah stated:

“This is not just an electricity project; it is the fulfillment of Bilawal Bhutto’s promise to make Sindh developed, self-sufficient, and a hub for clean energy.”

He emphasized that projects like “Solar Homes” offer crucial relief to low-income communities, particularly where high electricity bills are a major burden.

Provincial Assembly Member Yousuf Baloch said:

“This project is a gift from the PPP to the people of Lyari. Our mission is to light up every home in Lyari and provide every family with better access to energy.”

He reaffirmed the commitment to expand the solar initiative to other neighborhoods of Lyari in the coming days.

Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah further added:

  • The Sindh government will soon convert schools, hospitals, water pumps, and streetlights to solar power.
  • “Solar Sindh” is a comprehensive initiative aimed at clean energy, environmental protection, and public welfare.
  • This project not only addresses electricity shortages but also lays the foundation for environmentally friendly development.
