ISLAMABAD: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s leading exploration and production firm, announced on Friday that it has successfully brought the Soghri North Well-1 into production.
According to a notice submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX), the well has a production capacity of 14 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas and 430 barrels per day (BPD) of condensate.
To enable early monetization of the discovery, OGDCL laid an 8-inch, 14-km flowline linking the well to the Dakhni Plant, where the gas is processed before being injected into the SNGPL system.
The well was spudded on May 21, 2024, and drilled to a total depth of 4,942 meters in the Patala Formation. Following extensive testing, OGDCL confirmed its commercial viability.
The company stated that the addition of these new hydrocarbon reserves will enhance its portfolio while contributing to Pakistan’s indigenous energy security.
