WWEC2025 Programme Outline Unveiled: Shantou to Host Global Wind Energy Leaders in December

WWEC-2025

Bonn/Beijing, 3 October 2025: The World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) and the Chinese Wind Energy Association (CWEA) have released the programme outline for the upcoming 22nd World Wind Energy Conference (WWEC2025), scheduled to take place from 3–5 December 2025 in Shantou City, Guangdong Province, China. Themed “Empowering the Future with Wind Energy: Innovation, Collaboration, and Sustainable Growth,” the event will bring together global experts, policymakers, and industry leaders to explore pathways for accelerating wind energy deployment worldwide.

The conference will open with a forum on global wind market trends, featuring insights from countries including Australia, Brazil, Egypt, Germany, India, Japan, Korea, Morocco, Turkey, and Vietnam.

The high-level segment on 4 December will mark the official inauguration, followed by the Shantou Dialogue — a new platform for international industry executives to discuss strengthening supply chains and promoting fair trade frameworks in the wind sector.

On 5 December, WWEA will launch its Community Engagement Guidelines, designed to guide investors in developing wind projects in close collaboration with local communities. The guidelines were developed by the WWEA Community Engagement Council, comprising experts from across continents.

Over 18 technical sessions will address cutting-edge topics such as artificial intelligence in wind power, turbine technology advancements, offshore wind, small wind systems, and wind resource assessment. A special session will spotlight the Belt and Road Initiative, including the China-Pakistan Wind Power Collaboration Forum, while another will focus on archiving the global history of wind power.

The conference will conclude with a technical site visit to wind power installations in Shantou.

Participation in WWEC2025 is free of charge, and registration is open via the official website: www.wwec2025.org.cn. The detailed programme outline can be downloaded here.
