LAHORE: The Kuwait-Pakistan Business Expo 2025 will be held in Kuwait from December 11 to 13, 2025, aimed at showcasing Pakistani products and strengthening economic, trade, and investment ties between the two brotherly nations.
The announcement was made by Muhammad Saleem, head of a four-member Kuwaiti delegation, during a meeting at the Lahore Chamber of Commerce & Industry (LCCI).
The meeting was presided over by LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol, with Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh, Vice President Khurram Lodhi, delegation members Mohammad Siraj, Nadeem Virk, Sylvester Sam, and former Executive Committee Member Muhammad Nawaz also in attendance. Executive Committee members Firdous Nisar, Karamat Ali Awan, Syed Salman Ali, and Malik Muhammad Khalid participated as well.
Muhammad Saleem said the upcoming expo would provide a major opportunity for Pakistani entrepreneurs to enhance their presence in the Gulf market, adding that efforts are underway to secure a stronger market share for Pakistani products in Kuwait. He emphasized the historic and friendly relations between Pakistan and Kuwait and called for increased joint ventures and investment collaborations.
LCCI President Faheem-ur-Rehman Saigol lauded the initiative, describing it as a significant step toward boosting bilateral trade and investment. He noted that Pakistan and Kuwait share a long-standing bond of friendship and cooperation, reflected in multiple agreements in defence, investment, and healthcare.
He said bilateral trade currently stands at $1.8 billion, with Pakistan’s exports to Kuwait valued at $113 million, while imports—mainly petroleum-related products—reach $1.68 billion. Pakistan primarily exports meat, rice, fish, textiles, and vegetables to Kuwait.
While acknowledging the trade imbalance in Kuwait’s favour, Saigol expressed optimism that the expo would act as a catalyst for balanced trade growth, fostering new business partnerships, diversification, and joint ventures. He identified strong potential for Pakistani exports in pharmaceuticals, surgical instruments, sports goods, auto parts, construction materials, and IT services, along with collaboration opportunities in Halal food, mining, healthcare, education, renewable energy, and tourism.
Highlighting Pakistan’s vast agricultural resources and expertise in food processing, Saigol underscored the country’s minimal share—less than one percent—in the $5 trillion global Halal food market, urging businesses to focus on Halal certification, branding, and value addition to unlock export potential.
LCCI Senior Vice President Tanveer Ahmad Sheikh termed the Expo a golden opportunity to strengthen B2B linkages between the two countries, emphasizing that Pakistani industries are fully capable of competing successfully in Gulf markets. He also requested detailed information on participation procedures and sectoral focus, assuring full LCCI support in promoting the event across its 46,000-member network.
Vice President Khurram Lodhi, presenting the vote of thanks, reaffirmed LCCI’s commitment to enhancing trade, investment, and economic cooperation between Pakistan and Kuwait, describing the Expo as a vital platform for building long-term partnerships and advancing mutual prosperity.
