K-Electric Defers AGM Amid Pending NEPRA Tariff Decisions

K-Electric Limited (KE) has postponed its Annual General Meeting (AGM), earlier scheduled for November 11, 2025, due to uncertainty stemming from ongoing tariff-related proceedings before the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA).

In a statement to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Monday, the utility said its Board of Directors had approved the annual financial statements for the fiscal year ending June 30, 2024, back in September. However, the company’s auditors have sought management’s clarification regarding the potential financial impact of pending NEPRA rulings before issuing their final audit report.

NEPRA has held hearings on multiple reconsideration and review motions filed by the Ministry of Energy, K-Electric, and other stakeholders concerning generation, transmission, distribution, and supply tariffs, as well as write-off claims. “Decisions on these proceedings are still awaited,” the statement noted.

Given the uncertainty and factors beyond its control, KE said it cannot reliably estimate the financial implications of the pending NEPRA decisions on its FY2024 accounts. Consequently, the company stated it is unable to finalize its audited financial statements at this time.

“The AGM previously scheduled for November 11, 2025, for adoption of the annual financial statements for the year ended June 30, 2024, is therefore postponed until further notice,” KE announced.
