KARACHI: In a significant stride toward its sustainability goals, Mondelez Pakistan Limited has launched a large-scale 2.2 MW solar energy project, reinforcing its commitment to renewable energy and environmental responsibility in Pakistan’s manufacturing sector.
The initiative expands the company’s existing 0.6 MW installation by adding 1.6 MW of new solar capacity at its Hub manufacturing facility in Balochistan, developed in partnership with Shams Power. The project will enable Mondelez Pakistan to meet a substantial share of its energy needs through clean sources, reducing greenhouse gas emissions and improving operational efficiency.
Highlighting the company’s vision, Taimoor Vohra, MSC Lead, Mondelez Pakistan, said: “Environmental stewardship is a key part of how we do business. Investing in clean energy helps us reduce our environmental impact while enhancing long-term efficiency and resilience. This solar project embodies our commitment to building a greener, more sustainable Pakistan.”
A Shams Power spokesperson praised the collaboration, noting that such initiatives showcase how forward-thinking companies can accelerate Pakistan’s transition to renewable energy.
This solar investment forms part of Mondelez Pakistan’s broader sustainability roadmap, aligning with the company’s global ambitions to cut emissions, expand renewable energy use, and foster a more sustainable supply chain across its operations.
