Islamabad, October 2025 – The Sustainable Development Policy Institute (SDPI), Pakistan’s leading think tank on sustainable development, has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with Energy Update, the country’s foremost magazine on energy and environment, to enhance outreach and awareness for the upcoming 28th Sustainable Development Conference (SDC 2025).
The partnership aims to broaden engagement around the conference’s theme — “Sustainable Development in the Emerging World: Dis|Order” — by leveraging Energy Update’s digital, print, and social media platforms. The collaboration will help stimulate national dialogue on key topics such as climate action, green energy transition, sustainability, and inclusive growth.
The MoU was signed last month by Dr. Zainab Naeem, Research Fellow at SDPI, and Ms. Halima Khan, Head of Sustainability & Corporate Affairs. From Energy Update, the signing was witnessed by Mohammad Naeem Qureshi, Managing Editor; Engr. Nadeem Ashraf, Chief Marketing Officer; and Ms. Saira Adnaan.
Speaking on the occasion, Dr. Zainab Naeem said, “This partnership will strengthen knowledge-sharing and foster meaningful discussions on sustainability challenges faced by Pakistan and the Global South.”
Mohammad Naeem Qureshi added, “Energy Update is proud to serve as a strategic partner for SDC 2025, spotlighting innovation and policy dialogue for a more sustainable future.”
The 28th SDC, scheduled from November 4–7, 2025, at Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU), Islamabad, is expected to host over 1,000 participants, including policymakers, researchers, civil society members, and international experts.
This MoU builds on earlier collaborations, including Energy Update’s extensive coverage of SDPI’s sustainability and renewable energy initiatives. It underscores a shared commitment to advancing Pakistan’s climate resilience and Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs).
