Zardari Invites Polish Investors to Explore Joint Ventures in Pakistan’s SEZ

ISLAMABAD: President Asif Ali Zardari has invited Polish businesses to explore joint ventures and investment opportunities in Pakistan’s special economic zones (SEZs), emphasizing the country’s commitment to expanding bilateral trade and cooperation with Poland.

He extended the invitation during a meeting with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Poland, Radoslaw Sikorski, who called on him at the Aiwan-e-Sadr on Friday.

President Zardari said Pakistan deeply values its long-standing relationship with Poland, built on mutual respect, trust, and cooperation. He underlined Pakistan’s desire to strengthen political, economic, and cultural ties, noting the vast potential for collaboration in renewable energy, information technology, agriculture, and mining.

Highlighting Pakistan’s efforts toward regional peace, connectivity, and economic integration, the President reaffirmed Islamabad’s constructive role in fostering stability across South and Central Asia. He also welcomed Poland’s support for Pakistan in the European Union, calling for continued engagement on global and regional issues.

The two sides also discussed enhancing cooperation in education, defence, and people-to-people exchanges to further cement bilateral relations.

Deputy Prime Minister Sikorski expressed Poland’s strong interest in deepening economic and trade partnerships with Pakistan and praised Islamabad’s potential as a gateway to regional markets.

The meeting was attended by Ambassador of Poland to Pakistan Maciej Pisarski and Undersecretary of State at Poland’s Ministry of Interior and Administration, Maciej Duszczyk, while Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Muhammad Ishaq Dar, Senator Sherry Rehman, Senator Saleem Mandviwalla, and the Secretary, Ministry of Foreign Affairs, represented the Pakistani side.
