Govt Increases Petrol Price by Rs2.43 and HSD by Rs3.02 per Litre

New-OGRA1

ISLAMABAD: The federal government has announced an increase in petroleum product prices of up to Rs3.02 per litre for the fortnight beginning November 1, 2025, following recommendations from the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (OGRA) and relevant ministries.

According to a statement issued by the Finance Division, the price of High-Speed Diesel (HSD) has been raised by Rs3.02 per litre, bringing the new ex-depot price to Rs278.44 per litre, compared to Rs275.42 in the previous fortnight. Similarly, the price of petrol has been increased by Rs2.43 per litre, now fixed at Rs265.45 per litre, up from Rs263.02.

The Finance Division said that the price adjustment reflects recent fluctuations in international crude oil markets and the depreciation of the Pakistani rupee against the US dollar. Since Pakistan imports most of its petroleum products, global price movements continue to directly impact domestic fuel costs.

The pricing mechanism incorporates various components, including petroleum levy, climate levy, freight charges, and dealer and company margins. In the previous fortnight, the petroleum development levy (PDL) stood at Rs75.52 per litre for petrol and Rs74.51 per litre for HSD, alongside a climate levy of Rs2.50 per litre, freight margin, and dealer and company margins.

The government stated that it will continue to monitor international trends and exchange rate movements to ensure price adjustments remain aligned with market realities.
