IESCO Board Accelerates Digital Transformation to Enhance Transparency and Customer Service

ISLAMABAD: Chairman Islamabad Electric Supply Company (IESCO) Dr. Tahir Masood has said that the company’s Board of Directors is implementing a comprehensive modernization strategy aimed at upgrading both administrative and technical systems to meet contemporary needs.

In an official statement, Dr. Masood emphasized that transparency, governance improvement, and superior customer service are the board’s foremost priorities. He said that several initiatives have been launched under the board’s vision of digital transformation, fostering openness in operations and enabling consumers to access high-quality and timely services electronically.

He highlighted that modern Customer Facilitation Centres have been established at the division and sub-division levels, offering multiple services under one roof — including bill correction, complaint registration, bill installments, due date extensions, and other customer-related facilities.

Dr. Masood further revealed that the Advanced Metering Infrastructure (AMI) project, compliant with international standards, is being installed in Rawalpindi City and Rawalpindi Cantt Circles, calling it a “revolutionary step” for Pakistan’s power sector.

He noted that the “Apna Meter Apni Reading” mobile app has empowered consumers to record their own meter readings within a prescribed timeframe — a move designed to enhance trust and eliminate discrepancies in billing.

To ensure greater transparency, IESCO has also launched an online tracking system for new connections and complaint registrations, allowing customers to monitor their requests in real time.

Additionally, the introduction of a Digital Record Management System has reinforced internal accountability, while improvements in the company’s store operations have ensured a steady supply of transformers, meters, and HT/LT poles for fieldwork.

Reaffirming his commitment, Dr. Masood said the board is determined to transform IESCO into a modern, technology-driven utility, where efficiency, transparency, and customer satisfaction are central to every initiative.
