Albacete, Spain – 25 November 2025 – RES has signed its first major operations and maintenance (O&M) services agreement with Matrix Renewables, a global independent power producer backed by the TPG Rise investment fund. The milestone contract marks a significant expansion of RES’ solar services portfolio in Spain.

Under the agreement, RES will manage more than 300 MW of photovoltaic capacity across five provinces—Jaén, Huelva, Seville, Badajoz, and Valladolid. This strengthens RES’ presence in Andalusia and Extremadura while reinforcing its leadership position in Castile and León, a region central to Spain’s solar growth.

Matrix Renewables, active in Spain, Italy, the UK, Chile and the United States, is known for its integrated asset lifecycle management approach. The company requires global partners with strong technical capabilities, operational reliability, advanced predictive maintenance, and digital solutions—areas in which RES has built a strong international reputation.

Manuel Sánchez-Merenciano, Global Head of Solar/Storage/Green H2 – O&M Services at RES, commented:
“This agreement reflects the trust major IPPs place in our ability to optimise performance and availability across complex solar portfolios. Matrix Renewables maintains a high standard for operational excellence, and we are pleased to bring our global expertise and digital strength to support their assets across Spain.”

The contract comes at a pivotal moment for RES, which recently secured the second position worldwide in solar O&M, according to Wood Mackenzie’s latest rankings. This reinforces the company’s status as the most geographically diversified independent service provider in the sector—delivering high-quality, safety-driven, and technically advanced services across markets.

Globally, RES manages 21.9 GW of maintained solar capacity, including 8.5 GW in Spain, where it is the national leader in solar O&M. The company also holds a dominant position in EMEA with 13 GW under management and continues rapid expansion in the Americas, particularly in the United States (3 GW) and Chile (2.3 GW).

This partnership with Matrix Renewables marks a strategic advancement for RES, demonstrating its expertise in managing large, technically demanding solar portfolios and reinforcing its role as a trusted partner for major IPPs seeking to maximise asset performance in an increasingly competitive market.
