Hanoi, Vietnam: Vietnam’s rapidly rising technology landscape is set to enter a new era of global collaboration and innovation with the official announcement that GITEX – the world’s largest and highest-rated tech show brand – is expanding into Vietnam.

Organised by Dubai World Trade Centre (DWTC) and KAOUN International, in partnership with the Vietnam National Innovation Center (NIC) and facilitated by the Tony Blair Institute for Global Change (TBI), the inaugural GITEX AI VIETNAM will take place in Hanoi from 1–2 October 2026. The event will serve as an anchor highlight of Vietnam’s National Innovation Week, supporting the nation’s ambitions to build a US$200 billion digital economy by 2030.

A Major Boost for Southeast Asia’s Tech Ambitions

The announcement, made during GITEX AI ASIA x Ai Everything Singapore at Marina Bay Sands, follows the recently signed UAE–Vietnam declaration to begin talks on a Comprehensive Economic Partnership Agreement (CEPA), reinforcing deepening economic ties.

With GITEX now active across seven countries—Germany, Morocco, Nigeria, Singapore, Thailand, UAE, and soon Vietnam—the brand continues to open access to new markets, capital, talent, and global partnerships unmatched in scale.

“A Watershed Moment,” Says DWTC

Trixie LohMirmand, Executive Vice President of DWTC and CEO of KAOUN International, highlighted the strategic importance of the expansion:

“GITEX entering Vietnam is a transformative leap for our technology and innovation landscape. It will catalyze socio-economic progress at local, regional, and international levels while reinforcing Vietnam’s growing status as a global innovation partner.”

TBI’s Managing Director for Asia Pacific, Jalil Rasheed, added:

“This partnership bridges the global innovation ecosystem with Vietnam. It strengthens TBI’s commitment to leveraging technology for meaningful impact and enhances Vietnam–UAE bilateral relations.”
