KARACHI: Renowned Chinese micro-inverter manufacturer Hoymiles has entered the Pakistani market to offer high-tech and long-duration energy storage solutions for residential, commercial, and industrial solar power systems.
To explore Pakistan’s rapidly expanding solar market, Hoymiles has formed strategic partnerships with Superstar, a well-known player in Pakistan’s automotive industry, and Harisun Energy, a new entrant in the energy solutions sector. The collaboration aims to address one of the most pressing challenges facing the country’s solar sector—reliable and long-hour energy storage.
In recent years, a growing number of industrial, commercial, and residential consumers have shifted to solar power to cope with frequent electricity outages and escalating power tariffs. According to industry estimates, Pakistan’s net-metering capacity has reached around 6,000 megawatts (MW), while off-grid solar installations have surged to nearly 12,000 MW by the end of 2025.
“Pakistan’s fast-growing solar sector faces a serious challenge in terms of long-duration backup and energy storage, which will now be addressed with the entry of a global energy solutions leader,” said Haris Jamsheed, CEO of Harisun Energy. He added that the partnership with the Chinese firm would deliver innovative storage solutions capable of ensuring uninterrupted electricity supply for homes, offices, and factories, particularly during nighttime hours.
Solarisation has expanded rapidly across the country, driven by prolonged load-shedding in remote areas and the rising cost of grid electricity, which has become unaffordable for many households and industrial units.
“We are committed to bringing an energy revolution to Pakistan through innovative and affordable storage solutions,” said Saleem Umar, Chairman of Superstar. “Low-cost electricity backup systems can significantly enhance productivity in the industrial and commercial sectors, while affordable power at the household level will reduce costs and help exporters remain competitive in global markets.”
Superstar Solar Energy and Harisun Energy are introducing Hoymiles’ advanced portfolio of solar inverters, energy storage solutions, and smart energy management systems in Pakistan. These technologies are designed to provide reliable, efficient, and sustainable energy, enabling businesses and individuals to fully harness solar power as a clean and green energy source.
According to the International Energy Agency (IEA), Pakistan has emerged as one of the world’s fastest-growing solar markets, importing nearly 50 gigawatts (GW) of solar panels amid falling prices and widespread adoption across sectors during the first half of the year. This rapid expansion has positioned Pakistan as the third-largest market for Chinese solar panels globally, drawing significant international attention.
