DPM assures govt’s support to Chinese firm for mining investment

Islamabad: Deputy Prime Minister and Foreign Minister Senator Ishaq Dar on Monday met a delegation from China Minmetals Corporation (MCC) led by its Vice President, Xu Jiqing.

During the meeting, both sides held productive discussions on MCC’s ongoing and upcoming projects in Pakistan, with a focus on strengthening cooperation in the mining and minerals sector.

Senator Ishaq Dar reaffirmed the Government of Pakistan’s strong commitment to supporting MCC in advancing mining investment and promoting value-added industrial development. He highlighted Pakistan’s vast mineral potential and emphasized the importance of foreign investment, technology transfer, and sustainable mining practices for economic growth.

The Chinese delegation expressed continued interest in expanding its footprint in Pakistan and appreciated the government’s facilitative approach, underscoring the long-standing strategic partnership between Pakistan and China, particularly under the framework of CPEC.
