Karachi: Pakistan Petroleum Limited (PPL) has appointed Mohammad Khalid Rehman as its new Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, effective January 10, 2026. A seasoned professional and long-serving member of the PPL team, Rehman succeeds to the top leadership role after serving as Chief Financial Officer (CFO) since April 27, 2022.
Rehman joined PPL in 2009 and brings with him over three decades of national and international experience in finance, corporate planning and treasury operations. He began his career at PPL as Chief Accountant and went on to hold several senior leadership positions, including Manager Treasury Operations, Senior Manager Finance, and Senior Manager Corporate Planning, before being elevated to CFO in 2022.
Before joining PPL, Rehman worked with a number of leading organizations, including Ernst & Young Ford Rhodes Sidat Hyder, Umer Group of Companies, ORIX Leasing Pakistan Limited, State Street Fund Services Toronto, Inc., and the Bank of Montreal, gaining extensive professional exposure across Pakistan, Canada and Egypt.
An accomplished finance professional, Rehman is a Fellow Member of the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Pakistan (ICAP), a Certified Public Accountant (CPA) from the Institute of Chartered Accountants of Ontario, Canada, and an Associate Member of the Institute of Cost and Management Accountants of Pakistan (ICMAP).
His appointment is expected to provide strong continuity and strategic leadership as PPL navigates evolving challenges in Pakistan’s energy sector.
