KARACHI: Mari Energies Limited has entered into multiple agreements with leading fertilizer manufacturers—Fauji Fertilizer Company Limited, Engro Fertilizers Limited, and Fatima Fertilizer Company Limited—to enhance gas supply for the agriculture sector, the company announced in a notice to the Pakistan Stock Exchange on Tuesday.
The agreements relate to the development of Pressure Enhancement Facilities (PEF) at Daharki, Sindh, a strategic project aimed at improving gas flow and reliability from the Habib Rahi Limestone (HRL) reservoir.
According to the company, the PEF project includes debottlenecking of pipelines, installation of compression facilities at key junctions in the gas gathering network, and associated operations and maintenance work.
The initiative is designed to maintain minimum delivery pressure and extend the production plateau of the HRL gas field, ensuring uninterrupted indigenous gas supply to fertilizer plants. This is expected to directly support domestic urea production and strengthen Pakistan’s food security.
Mari Energies highlighted that it maintains a strong exploration success rate of around 70 percent, significantly higher than the national average of approximately 33 percent and the global average of 14 percent.
As one of Pakistan’s leading exploration and production firms, the company supplies gas to key sectors including fertilizers, power generation, gas distribution companies, and refineries, playing a critical role in the country’s energy and agricultural value chain.
