MG Pakistan has announced a major enhancement to its electric vehicle lineup by equipping all new models of its flagship MG HS Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicle (PHEV) with a 7kW fast charger, replacing the previously offered standard portable charger.
The move comes as part of MG’s broader commitment to promoting smart and efficient urban mobility in Pakistan. Since the vehicle’s local launch in *October 2024, followed by **production commencement in January 2025, the HS PHEV has garnered a strong market response with *over 500 units delivered, according to a company press release issued Monday.
Company officials noted that while customers have praised the HS PHEV’s modern design, performance, and eco-conscious technology, concerns were raised about the long overnight charging time of up to 8.5 hours using the standard charger.
Responding to this feedback, the newly introduced 7kW wall-mounted fast charger is set to reduce the charging time by nearly half, significantly enhancing convenience for urban commuters. “We are committed to transforming Pakistan’s automotive landscape by offering the latest technology and services to our valued customers,” said Syed Asif Ahmed, General Manager Marketing, MG Pakistan.
