Karachi, July 10, 2025 — The Sindh Energy Diversity Conference 2025 is set to be held on Friday, July 11, at Movenpick Hotel, Karachi, in collaboration with the Sindh Energy Department. Organized by Energy Update, the conference will serve as a vital platform to explore the province’s evolving energy landscape, discuss diversification strategies, and promote renewable and sustainable energy solutions across Sindh.
The conference will be inaugurated by the Chief Minister of Sindh, Syed Murad Ali Shah, who will grace the event as Chief Guest. The keynote address will be delivered by Syed Nasir Hussain Shah, Sindh’s Minister for Energy and Planning & Development. Mr. M. Naeem Qureshi, Chairman of the Conference and Managing Editor of *Energy Update, will welcome the participants and outline the objectives of the event.
The day-long conference will feature several high-impact sessions. A key panel discussion on “Solar Local Manufacturing, Net Metering, and Taxation Challenges” will be chaired by Energy Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah and moderated by energy expert Engr. Irfan Ahmed. The panelists will include Mr. M. Zakir Ali, CEO of Inverex Solar Energy; Mr. Mian Fahad, Country Director of Growatt; Mr. Khalique Jafrani, Chairman of SOGO Group; Ms. Ayesha Ahmed, solar energy specialist; and Mr. Shoaib Asif Sipra, CEO of Sky Electric.
Another important session will focus on “Coal Energy – Opportunities and Innovations,” led by Mr. Tariq Ali Shah, Managing Director of the Thar Coal and Energy Board. The second major panel, titled “Oil and Gas Development in Sindh,” will feature distinguished speakers including Mr. Shamsuddin Shaikh, former CEO of SECMC; Mr. Tufail Khoso, COO of Sindh Energy Holding Company; and Dr. Nazir Abbas Zaidi, Secretary of the Oil Companies Advisory Council (OCAC).
The third and final panel, “EV Ecosystem Development in Pakistan,” will be chaired by Sindh Transport Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon and moderated by Yasir Hussain of the Climate Action Plan. This session will bring together key players from the electric vehicle industry including Mr. Abdur Rehman, Chief Trade Officer of Inverex EV; Mr. Rizwan Jafrani, Director of SOGO Group; Mr. Shoaib Shafiq, Project Director of NETC; Mr. Noman Alvi from EVEE Technologies; and Mr. Osama Shaikh, CEO of E-Turbo.
The conference will conclude with the announcement of key recommendations, distribution of souvenirs among participants, and a group photo session. The event is expected to foster strategic partnerships, highlight policy needs, and drive actionable outcomes to support Sindh’s clean energy transition and economic growth.
