KUALA LUMPUR, MALAYSIA — 20 October 2025: The Ministry of Energy Transition and Water Transformation (PETRA) has extended its heartfelt congratulations to 16 Malaysian organisations honoured at the ASEAN Energy Awards (AEA) 2025, recognising their outstanding achievements in advancing sustainable energy solutions and regional clean energy leadership.
Organised by the ASEAN Centre for Energy (ACE), the ASEAN Energy Awards represent Southeast Asia’s most prestigious recognition for excellence in energy efficiency, renewable energy, and sustainability. The accolades were presented during the ASEAN Ministers on Energy Meeting (AMEM), celebrating innovation and leadership that contribute to a low-carbon, resilient future for the region.
This year, 25 Malaysian organisations were nominated through the National Energy Awards (NEA) — the country’s flagship platform for recognising exemplary performance in energy management, efficiency, and renewable energy adoption.
Among the Malaysian winners, CSC Steel Sdn. Bhd. secured top honours in the Large Industry (Energy Management System) category, while Primetech Engineers Sdn. Bhd. was recognised in the Large Green Building category. Collectively, the 16 winning organisations achieved impressive milestones — cutting nearly *72 million tonnes of carbon emissions annually, generating **7.6 MW of renewable power, and attaining *average energy savings of 23.7% across sectors.
These achievements align closely with Malaysia’s National Energy Transition Roadmap (NETR) and Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs) under the Paris Agreement, which chart the nation’s journey towards *net-zero greenhouse gas emissions by 2050. Regionally, they also reinforce the *ASEAN Plan of Action for Energy Cooperation (APAEC), driving Southeast Asia’s shared goals of energy security and sustainability.
PETRA underscored that Malaysia’s progress in clean energy and efficiency has been made possible through strong collaboration among government agencies, industries, and communities. The Ministry reaffirmed its commitment to fostering these partnerships to scale sustainable solutions that deliver environmental and socioeconomic benefits.
PETRA further encouraged more Malaysian organisations to participate in future National Energy Awards and represent the country at ASEAN and international levels, ensuring Malaysia continues to lead by example in the regional energy transition.
