Pakistan, Turkmenistan Explore Regional Energy Connectivity

ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Energy (Power Division) Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari on Tuesday held a meeting with Turkmenistan’s Ambassador to Pakistan, Atadjan Movlamov, to discuss strengthening regional energy connectivity and cross-border cooperation between Pakistan and Central Asia.

The meeting, held at the Ministry of Energy, began with an exchange of greetings on the occasion of Ramazan. The minister conveyed his best wishes for peace, prosperity, and continued friendship between the two nations.

Ambassador Movlamov highlighted the longstanding historical and cultural ties between Pakistan and Turkmenistan, noting that these bonds provide a strong foundation for expanding bilateral cooperation, particularly in the energy sector.

Discussions focused on enhancing regional connectivity by developing energy infrastructure and advancing cross-border projects aimed at promoting economic integration across Central and South Asia. Both sides underscored the importance of collaborative efforts to strengthen energy security, facilitate data sharing, and support sustainable development initiatives.

The two countries reaffirmed their commitment to deepening energy cooperation and pursuing greater regional integration for mutual benefit in future engagements.
