ISLAMABAD: Federal Minister for Petroleum Ali Pervaiz Malik has reaffirmed the government’s commitment to stabilising fuel prices while prioritising relief for the public, amid ongoing global economic uncertainty driven by geopolitical tensions.

Speaking to a local media outlet, Malik thanked Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif for his continued support to the petroleum sector, noting that coordinated efforts are underway to maintain price balance and shield consumers from excessive burden. He emphasized that policy decisions are being shaped with a strong focus on the common man, ensuring that economic challenges are managed without compromising public welfare.

The minister highlighted the role of Pakistan’s civil and military leadership, including Deputy Prime Minister Ishaq Dar, in strengthening the country’s diplomatic standing through sustained international engagement. He said these efforts have contributed positively to national stability and improved Pakistan’s global image.

Referring to the ongoing Middle East tensions, Malik noted that Pakistan has played a constructive mediator role, which has been widely appreciated internationally. He observed that both the United States and Iran have shown some flexibility, expressing hope that continued dialogue would lead to a comprehensive and lasting peace agreement.

Despite global economic pressures, Malik asserted that Pakistan’s position remains relatively stable compared to regional economies such as India, Bangladesh, and Sri Lanka, which have faced significant financial challenges in recent years.

He expressed optimism that ongoing reforms and upcoming policy initiatives would further stabilise fuel prices, improve economic conditions, and deliver greater relief to consumers across the country.
