Pakistan Air Force fighter jets lit up the skies over Islamabad and Rawalpindi on Friday during a rehearsal for the upcoming ceremony marking the first anniversary of Marka-i-Haq.

Residents of the twin cities witnessed a spectacular aerial display as PAF aircraft carried out practice maneuvers ahead of the official commemorative event scheduled for Sunday at the Pakistan Monument located at Zero Point.

According to sources, the ceremony will be attended by Pakistan’s top civilian and military leadership to commemorate what officials describe as the country’s victory against India last year. Preparations for the event also included a laser light display at the venue, illuminating the monument area for a brief period during the rehearsal.

Meanwhile, the Pakistan Airports Authority (PAA) issued a Notice to Airmen (Notam), warning that flight operations at Islamabad International Airport could face delays from Friday through Sunday due to “operational reasons”.

According to the advisory, arrivals and departures may experience delays between 8pm and 9:15pm on Saturday and Sunday. Airlines operating inbound flights to Islamabad have also been instructed to carry sufficient holding fuel to accommodate possible delays.

The PAA had issued a similar advisory earlier this year in March, when flight operations at Islamabad airport were temporarily suspended for two hours due to operational activities.
