KARACHI: Pakistan’s petroleum exports demonstrated resilience during the first ten months of FY2025-26, with strong shipments of fuel oil, naphtha, and condensate products despite volatility in international energy markets.
According to the latest export data, major export terminals, including Keamari and FOTCO, maintained steady operations throughout the July 2025-April 2026 period, supporting robust export performance across multiple petroleum products.
High Sulphur Fuel Oil (HSFO) remained the country’s leading petroleum export, with total shipments exceeding 1.22 million metric tonnes. Export activity peaked in August 2025, while October and November also recorded substantial volumes, reflecting sustained international demand.
Naphtha exports reached approximately 134,658 metric tonnes during the reporting period. Significant shipments were recorded in November and December 2025, with export momentum continuing in subsequent months amid stable regional demand.
Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (LSFO) exports totalled around 167,521 metric tonnes. Regular cargo movements through FOTCO underscored Pakistan’s growing capability to supply fuels that meet evolving international quality standards.
Exports of Very Low Sulphur Fuel Oil (VLSFO), a cleaner marine fuel increasingly sought by global shipping operators, also showed encouraging growth. Total VLSFO exports reached nearly 59,620 metric tonnes, with January 2026 recording the highest shipment volume in this category, highlighting emerging opportunities in the cleaner fuels market.
Meanwhile, crude condensate exports stood at approximately 125,587 metric tonnes during the July-April period. Major export consignments were recorded in August, October, and December 2025.
Industry stakeholders noted that the sector’s steady performance reflects improved coordination among refineries, export terminals, shipping companies, and port authorities. They said the continued strength of petroleum exports demonstrates operational stability and the sector’s ability to capitalize on international market opportunities despite global energy market uncertainties.
Overall, Pakistan’s petroleum export sector maintained positive momentum during FY2025-26, contributing to foreign exchange earnings and reinforcing the country’s position in regional energy trade.
