ISTANBUL: A commemorative photo exhibition marking the 150th birth anniversary year of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah, the founder of Pakistan, was inaugurated at the historic Rami Library in Istanbul, showcasing his life, political struggle, and enduring legacy.
The event was attended by distinguished dignitaries, including Ambassador of Pakistan to Türkiye Yousaf Junaid, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Mehmet Sülün, Eyüpsultan Kaymakam Dr. Arslan Yurt, Rami Library Director Ali Çelik, along with diplomats, academics, media representatives, and members of the Pakistani diaspora.
The exhibition was jointly organized by the Pakistan Embassy in Ankara, Albayrak Media Group, and Rami Library. It features rare and historical photographs depicting various phases of Jinnah’s life—from his early years as a distinguished barrister to his emergence as a visionary political leader who led the movement for the creation of Pakistan.
In his keynote address, Ambassador Yousaf Junaid highlighted Jinnah’s unwavering commitment to constitutionalism, democratic values, rule of law, and political dignity. He noted that Jinnah’s historic 11 August 1947 address to the Constituent Assembly of Pakistan continues to serve as a guiding framework for inclusive governance and nation-building.
He further emphasized Jinnah’s philosophy of “Unity, Faith, and Discipline” as a timeless principle that remains central to Pakistan’s national identity and development.
Speaking on the occasion, Deputy Governor of Istanbul Mehmet Sülün paid tribute to Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah as one of the most influential political figures of the 20th century, appreciating the collaborative efforts behind the exhibition in presenting his legacy to an international audience.
Renowned academic Prof. Dr. Davut Şahbaz also spoke at the event, highlighting Jinnah’s contributions to constitutional politics and his vision of a modern, democratic, and inclusive state.
The exhibition will remain open to the public, offering visitors an opportunity to explore Jinnah’s life and leadership through a rich visual narrative. The event also underscored the enduring friendship between Pakistan and Türkiye, reflecting shared values of history, culture, and mutual respect.
