Master Changan to Introduce NEVO in Pakistan, Expanding Global Brand Portfolio

KARACHI: Master Changan Motors Limited (MCML) is preparing to introduce CHANGAN NEVO in Pakistan, marking the next step in the company’s strategy to bring Changan’s global multi-brand portfolio to the local automotive market.

The move follows the successful introduction of DEEPAL and the locally assembled S05 REEV, further expanding Master Changan’s presence in Pakistan’s rapidly evolving new-energy vehicle segment.

Master Changan said its growth in recent years has provided the platform for the next phase of expansion. In 2025, the company became Pakistan’s fourth-largest automobile brand, with more than 75,000 vehicles on the road. It currently operates a dedicated EV-equipped dealership network of 29 dealers across 19 cities, supported by local manufacturing and products across multiple vehicle segments.

The company’s strategy is built around Changan’s global multi-brand architecture, which will be represented in Pakistan through four passenger-vehicle brands:

CHANGAN: Mainstream mobility focused on quality, technology and value.
NEVO: New-energy mobility designed to make electrification more accessible to mainstream customers.
DEEPAL: Premium new-energy vehicles combining advanced technology and modern design.
AVATR: Intelligent luxury vehicles focused on design, technology and premium mobility.

Master Changan first previewed the strategy at the Pakistan Auto Show 2025, where CEO Danial Malik outlined plans to introduce four brands and 11 products across different segments, price points and powertrain technologies, including ICE, HEV, PHEV, REEV and BEV.

NEVO to Drive Mainstream Electrification

Launched globally in 2023, NEVO is positioned by Changan as its mass-market new-energy vehicle brand, aimed at making advanced electrification more accessible to everyday consumers.

The brand offers sedans, SUVs and lifestyle vehicles powered by battery-electric (BEV) and range-extended electric (REEV) technologies, with plug-in hybrid options also forming part of its broader new-energy portfolio.

According to Master Changan, NEVO has recorded cumulative global sales of more than 600,000 vehicles in three years, while three of its models have ranked among the top three vehicles in their respective segments.

Changan has set a global target of 1.5 million annual NEVO sales by 2030, making the brand an important part of its new-energy strategy.

Speaking on the occasion, Danial Malik, CEO of Master Changan Motors Limited, said NEVO represents the company’s commitment to bringing mass electrification to Pakistan by making intelligent new-energy mobility “progressive, practical and accessible at scale.”

Five NEVO Models Planned for Pakistan

Master Changan plans to introduce five NEVO models in Pakistan over the next three years, covering sedan, SUV and pickup truck segments.

The company said three new-energy products based on BEV, PHEV and REEV technologies will be introduced during the brand’s first year in Pakistan.

The brand’s initial product will be the NEVO Hunter, which Master Changan describes as Pakistan’s first and only range-extended 4×4 pickup truck.

The company said further details regarding the NEVO Hunter and other upcoming models will be announced in due course.

The introduction of NEVO is expected to strengthen Master Changan’s position in Pakistan’s growing electric and new-energy vehicle market while giving consumers a wider range of electrified mobility options.
