IEEEP Fair 2026 Concludes with Sindh Government’s Support for ‘Make in Pakistan’ Drive
KARACHI: Sindh Energy and Planning & Development Minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah has assured the government’s full support for promoting locally manufactured products and addressing challenges faced by industry, calling for Pakistan’s policy commitments to be translated into practical action.
He was speaking at the closing ceremony of the 15th IEEEP Fair 2026, jointly organised by the Institution of Electrical and Electronics Engineers Pakistan (IEEEP) Karachi Centre and Badar Expo Solutions.
The minister said the three-day exhibition provided an important platform for engineers, manufacturers, professionals and industry stakeholders to exchange ideas, develop strategic partnerships and showcase advanced products and technologies.
Highlighting the significance of the “Make in Pakistan” initiative, Shah said locally manufactured products should be given priority by government institutions. He assured manufacturers of the Sindh government’s cooperation in resolving issues related to taxation, duties, regulations and other systemic barriers affecting industrial growth.
He also appreciated the efforts of IEEEP Karachi Centre and Badar Expo Solutions for organising the major engineering exhibition and creating a platform that connected industry with government departments and other key stakeholders.
Speaking at the ceremony, Engr. Naveed Akram Ansari, Chairman IEEEP Karachi Centre, highlighted the newly introduced Made in Pakistan Excellence Award, aimed at encouraging high-quality local manufacturing and enhancing export competitiveness.
The inaugural award was presented to MACHT (Pvt) Limited. The award was evaluated by an expert panel headed by Engineer Khalid Pervez, with Engineer Ibrahim Haq, Engineer Dr. Mohsin Aman, Engineer Asif Siddiqui and Engineer Shahab Raja serving as panel members.
Zohair Naseer, CEO of Badar Expo Solutions, thanked more than 200 local and international exhibitors who participated in the exhibition and showcased innovations across the electrical, electronics and renewable energy sectors.
He also acknowledged the contributions of event sponsors, official partners, media organisations and members of the organising committee for ensuring the successful execution of the three-day event.
Concluding the ceremony, the organisers announced that the 16th IEEEP Fair will be held from September 7 to 9, 2027, at the Karachi Expo Centre, building on the success and growing industry participation witnessed at this year’s edition.
