South Asia Forum Nominates Faisal Siddiqi as Secretary General

KARACHI, September 01, 2026: The SouthAsia Forum, a private-sector think tank, founded in 1996 and dedicated to promoting informed discourse on regional and global issues, has nominated Faisal Siddiqi as its new Secretary General.
Siddiqi is an experienced corporate communications professional with extensive experience in public affairs and advocacy, reputation building and strategic communications. His appointment is expected to further strengthen the Forum’s efforts to facilitate meaningful dialogue and contribute to a deeper understanding of the social, cultural, business, economic and political dynamics shaping South Asia.
Commenting on the appointment, Chairman SouthAsia Forum Syed Jawaid Iqbal welcomed Siddiqi and expressed confidence in his ability to take the Forum forward.

The SouthAsia Forum was established as a private-sector platform to reflect the growing significance of South Asia in the global landscape. It regularly analyzes and discusses regional issues relating to the social, cultural, business, economic and political ethos of the region, while maintaining a broader global perspective.
The Forum seeks to create a platform where diverse perspectives can converge and where contemporary challenges and opportunities facing the region can be examined through informed discourse, research and debate.
It works in close collaboration with leading public-sector organizations, international foundations and endowments to promote dialogue on economic and social issues across the realms of politics, business and industry.
