Hamburg/Bonn/Muscat, 22 September 2026 – The World Wind Energy Association (WWEA) Board has announced that the 23rd World Wind Energy Conference (WWEC2027) will be hosted by the Sultanate of Oman. The event will be co-organized by Nama Power and Water Procurement (PWP) and WWEA, with support from Oman’s Ministry of Energy and Minerals.
Since its inception in Berlin in 2002, the WWEC series has brought together the global wind community across all continents, significantly accelerating wind power adoption in host regions and worldwide.
WWEC2027 will be the first edition held in the Gulf region, aiming to support Oman and neighboring countries in their transformation towards wind energy and a renewable energy based economy and with this to strengthen regional economic development. This follows the success of WWEC2025 in Shantou/China which resulted in various groundbreaking decisions for the wind energy sector.
