According to a statement issued by the power utility, several localities have moved from the medium-loss to the low-loss category, making them eligible for loadshedding exemption. These include parts of Korangi, such as Abdullah Shah Noorani Colony, Pak Ittehad Colony, Zaman Town and Sectors 48-A, 48-B, 48-C, 48-D and 48-E.

Other areas benefiting from the improvement include Azizabad Block 2 and Block 8 in Federal B Area, Bhangoria Goth, Block 9 Yasinabad, Naimat Colony, Kyani Shaheed, Randle Road, APWA Complex Road, Jubilee Cloth Market and Biltistani Mohalla in Jacob Lines.

Shah Abdul Latif Bhitai Colony, Altaf Town, Deh Dih Tapo Ibrahim Hyderi Goth, parts of the SITE area and Sectors L-1 and 5-D in Surjani Town have also moved into the low-loss category.

KE attributed the progress to reduced aggregate technical and commercial (AT&C) losses and engagement with local representatives to encourage timely bill payments and discourage electricity theft.

Meanwhile, several areas have shifted from the high-loss to the medium-loss category, resulting in reduced loadshedding. These include Saadat Colony, Moria Khan Goth, Soldier Bazar, Tagore Street, Aminabad Society and Martin Quarters in Jamshed Town.

Parts of Orangi Town, including Khawaja Ghareeb Nawaz, Millat Colony, Madina Colony and Al-Mustafa Colony, have also recorded improvements in their feeder profiles.

The utility said nearly 70% of its service territory, comprising more than 2,100 feeders, remained exempt from loadshedding. The revised schedule has taken effect immediately, with customers able to check updates through KE’s official website, KE Live App and WhatsApp service. The previous review was conducted in July 2026.

KE spokesperson Imran Rana said the improvements demonstrated the importance of timely bill payments and cooperation between the utility, residents, area representatives and elected officials in reducing electricity losses.

He added that the progress reflected joint efforts to address power theft and improve the reliability of electricity supply.

KE further reported that since the beginning of fiscal year 2026-27, it had conducted nearly 5,000 anti-kunda operations and removed more than 44,000 kilogrammes of illegal wires used to steal electricity.

The company said areas where power theft remained prevalent would continue to be monitored until the next review of feeder performance.
