The landmark project is designed to strengthen Pakistan’s high-voltage transmission network and enhance the capacity and reliability of the national grid. The transmission line will play a crucial role in evacuating electricity generated by the Dasu Hydropower Project and delivering it to the national grid.

The ongoing stringing activities mark a critical stage in the project’s construction, following preparatory work and the erection of transmission towers. The installation of conductors across the mountainous terrain presents significant engineering and logistical challenges, requiring coordinated efforts from various teams involved in the project.

The project brings together the client, consultants, contractors, occupational health and safety (OHS) and environmental, social, health and safety (ESHS) teams, engineers, supervisors and field workers to advance construction activities.

Once completed, the transmission line is expected to strengthen the infrastructure required to transmit hydropower to the national grid, supporting Pakistan’s electricity transmission capacity and facilitating the integration of additional hydropower into the power system.

The development represents an important step in expanding the country’s high-voltage transmission infrastructure to support growing electricity demand and improve the delivery of power from major generation projects.
