The launch ceremony, held at Park View City, Islamabad, was attended by Bestway Group Founder Sir M. Anwar Pervez, Group Chairman Lord Zameer Choudrey, senior executives from both organisations, industry leaders, distinguished guests and media representatives.

Bestway Automotive, Geely’s sole authorised distributor in Pakistan, will oversee the brand’s market introduction, vehicle sales and after-sales services. The partnership also envisages local vehicle assembly, with Bestway preparing its Karachi facility for the next phase of Geely’s operations in the country.

The launch is built around Geely Auto’s global brand philosophy, “See the World in Full”, which emphasises enhancing mobility through engineering, technology and design while enabling customers to explore new experiences and opportunities.

Irfan Sheikh, Group Managing Director for Non-Banking Businesses at Bestway Group, Pakistan, described the launch as a significant milestone for the company, highlighting the complementary strengths of both partners.

He said Bestway’s experience in investing in and developing businesses in Pakistan, combined with Geely’s global automotive expertise, would provide a strong foundation for the partnership. He added that the company had introduced three models—the EX2, EX5 and Starray EM-R—as the first step in its expansion into Pakistan’s automotive market.

Sheikh said Bestway aimed to bring locally assembled Geely vehicles to Pakistani roads within the next few months. He expressed confidence in the partnership’s potential and said the company was committed to establishing Geely as a trusted automotive brand in Pakistan.

The three models target different consumer requirements. The Geely EX2 is a compact, fully electric hatchback designed primarily for urban mobility, while the EX5 is a fully electric sport utility vehicle (SUV). The Starray EM-R features range-extended electric vehicle (REEV) technology, combining electric propulsion with an onboard petrol engine to provide additional driving flexibility.

Haider Choudrey, Group Chief Executive Officer of Bestway Group, said the launch reflected the group’s continued commitment to Pakistan. He noted that Bestway had invested more than $350 million in the country through businesses including cement manufacturing and banking, creating over 20,000 jobs and supporting livelihoods during the past three years.

He said the establishment of Bestway Automotive would extend the group’s investment into a new sector, creating opportunities for local manufacturing, employment generation, skills development and the expansion of Pakistan’s automotive supply chain.

According to Choudrey, the partnership would also provide Pakistani consumers with greater vehicle choice and access to international automotive technologies.

Evin Ye, Vice President of GAIC and Managing Director of Geely Auto ASEAN, said Pakistan was Geely’s first market in South Asia and offered significant growth potential.

He welcomed the partnership with Bestway, citing its understanding of the local market and shared commitment to customer service. He said the collaboration represented a long-term commitment to business growth, stronger customer support and the introduction of safe, intelligent and high-quality mobility solutions for Pakistani families.

The partnership between Bestway Group and Geely Auto is expected to support the development of Pakistan’s automotive sector through potential local assembly, investment, employment opportunities and improved access to advanced vehicle technologies. Both companies aim to establish long-term customer relationships while building Geely’s presence in the Pakistani market.
