OGRA raises LNG price by 5.59% for August
The consumers are set to pay the price of expensive liquefied natural gas (LNG) deals as the Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Monday raised prices of LNG by up to 5.59%. The Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) has recently called for initiating inquiry against the expensive LNG deals. The National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) on Monday allowed charging the highest hydel tariff of RsRs9.118 per kWh on provisional basis. It allowed Neelum-Jhelum Hydropower Project (NJHP) to continue selling its electricity at provisional tariff of Rs9.118 per kWh on take and pay basis with must-run condition. This was already effective from October 17, 2019.
