Siemens Gamesa reveals world’s largest wind turbine

Siemens Gamesa has unveiled its new 14MW SG 14-222 DD offshore wind turbine, the largest capacity wind turbine in the world. The turbine, which beats out competitor GE Renewable Energy’s 12MW Haliade X turbine, features 108-metre-long blades, on a 222-meter diameter rotor, and capacity can be boosted to 15MW using proprietary technology.
