Gusty winds cause power outages in Peshawar

PESHAWAR: Strong winds with gusts up to 55 kilometers per hour hit the provincial capital for the second consecutive day on Wednesday causing prolonged power outages. The weathermen call the weather phenomenon ridge and said it would prevail for three to four more days. The windstorm was also reported in some other parts of the province on Tuesday and Wednesday. CASA power project to be completed early, Tajikistan assured

DUSHANBE: Pakistan on Wednesday assured Tajikistan of making utmost efforts for an early completion of the CASA-1000 project. Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi at a joint press conference with his Tajik counterpart Sirajuddin Mehruddin said Pakistan believes that Central Asia-South Asia (CASA-1000) project will not only benefit the two countries, but the entire region. Prices of petroleum products cut by up to 2.5pc

ISLAMABAD: While increasing tax rates, the government on Wednesday reduced prices of all petroleum products by up to 2.5 per cent for the next 15 days to pass on partial impact of the decline in the international prices. According to a notification issued by the finance ministry, the ex-depot price of petrol was reduced by Rs1.55 per litre and that of high speed diesel (HSD) by Rs3 per litre. NTDC completes work on 130km 220kV transmission line

LAHORE: The National Transmission and Dispatch Company Ltd (NTDC) have completed the rehabilitation/up-gradation of the existing 130km long 220kV double circuit transmission line from Jamshoro to KDA-33 (Karachi). The NTDC has completed rehabilitation work ahead of the deadline despite difficulties faced during the COVID-19 pandemic. The transmission line is expected to be energized on or before 31st March 2021.
