UK announces ‘ambitious’ plan to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 68%

The U.K. government will target an emissions cut of at least 68% by the year 2030, compared to 1990 levels, under plans announced Thursday. The new goal to reduce greenhouse gas emissions comes before a Climate Ambition Summit on Dec. 12 which the U.K. will co-host. Italy’s Eni to buy 20% stake in world’s largest offshore wind farm
