SAF, SF to collaborate in peoples’ welfare projects across country

The Shahid Afridi Foundation (SAF) and Sarwar Foundation (SF) signed a Memorandum of Understanding  (MoU) for collaboration in health, education, provision of clean drinking water & Hepatitis Free Punjab campaign.  Governor Punjab Chaudhry Mohammad Sarwar was also present on the occasion. Sindh’s nominees for NEPRA tribunal rejected

The federal government has rejected a panel recommended by Sindh for appointing member finance of the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (Nepra) tribunal on the grounds the candidates did not meet the eligibility criteria. Sources told The Express Tribune that the Sindh Energy Department had sent a two-member panel for selection of one of them for the post of Nepra tribunal member (finance). ISLAMABAD: Saudi Arabia’s Al-Jomaiah Group on Wednesday sought early resolution of payables and receivables of K-Electric (KE) and urged the government and public sector entities to facilitate the power utility’s takeover by China’s Shanghai Electric Ltd. CPPA seeks fee hike

KARACHI: Central Power Purchasing Agency (CPPA) has approached the National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) seeking 54.8 percent increase in market operator fee to Rs3.002kwh/month for the fiscal year 2020-21. CPPA in its petition noted the agency’s revenue requirements for FY2020-21 were estimated at Rs853.61 million compared with Rs601.81 in the last fiscal year. In order to meet with the expenses for discharging the functions and plans mentioned, CPPA requires revenue to be approved by the NEPRA. Firms setting up waste-to-energy plants to get free land

The Sindh government has decided to provide free-of-charge land to the firms that will install plants to use the municipal waste of Karachi to generate clean electricity. This decision was taken on Wednesday during a meeting that was held to finalise the policy to install waste-to-energy plants in the city.
