President Zardari Appoints New Governors for Punjab, KP, and Balochistan

President Asif Ali Zardari has formally approved the appointment of new governors for three vital provinces of Pakistan, namely Punjab, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa (KP), and Balochistan.

Faisal Karim Kundi, a prominent figure in the PPP, has been designated as the governor of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, while Salim Haider Khan, also from the PPP, has been chosen as the governor of Punjab. Additionally, Jafar Khan Mandokhel has been appointed as the governor of Balochistan.

Faisal Karim Kundi, hailing from Dera Ismail Khan, is set to take the oath as the 36th governor of KP tonight. Despite being defeated by KP Chief Minister Ali Amin Gandapur in the recent February 8 general elections from NA-44, Kundi’s appointment underscores the PPP’s confidence in his leadership.

These appointments were formalized through a presidential decree issued by President Zardari, in accordance with Article 101(a) of the Constitution, marking a significant development in the political landscape of the respective provinces.
