ISLAMABAD, April 03, 2025: Oil and Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL) on Thursday announced the successful revival of oil and gas production from Chak # 2-2 Well, a joint venture in the Sinjhoro Block, located in the Sanghar district of Sindh. This achievement underscores OGDCL’s commitment to enhancing the country’s hydrocarbon resources and ensuring energy security.
The Sinjhoro Block comprises OGDCL as the Operator with a 62.5% working interest, alongside Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) with 22.5%, and Orient Petroleum Inc. (OPI) holding a 15% share.
Following a sidetrack and recompletion in the Basal Sand formation, post-completion testing has yielded promising results. The well is currently producing 115 barrels of oil per day (BPD) and 7.0 million standard cubic feet per day (MMSCFD) of gas, along with 21 metric tons per day (MTon/D) of LPG. The produced hydrocarbons are now being processed at the Sinjhoro Gas Processing Plant, with the gas being injected into the Sui Southern Gas Company Limited (SSGCL) network, ensuring a stable supply to the national grid.
OGDCL is committed to exploring and developing Pakistan’s natural resources efficiently and sustainably, ensuring value creation for stakeholders and contributing to the nation’s energy needs.
