Shah Urges Fast-Tracking of Solar and Wind Power Projects

KARACHI: Sindh Energy Minister Nasir Hussain Shah has directed the Energy Department to expedite the implementation of solar and wind power projects, assuring that dedicated funds will be allocated for new renewable energy initiatives in the upcoming provincial budget.

Chairing a high-level review meeting on Wednesday, Shah emphasized timely completion of all ongoing and approved energy projects. The session was attended by Energy Secretary Mushtaq Soomro, Additional Secretary Zain-ul-Abidin Ansari, Sindh Transmission and Dispatch Company CEO Saleem Shaikh, and other senior officials.

The meeting reviewed proposed energy schemes for the next fiscal year and assessed the progress of existing projects. Shah instructed officials to remove all bottlenecks impeding project execution and to enhance departmental performance and efficiency.

He stressed aligning the department’s efforts with the vision of PPP Chairman Bilawal Bhutto Zardari, aiming to expand access to affordable electricity for millions of households. “Ensuring low-cost energy will bring real relief to the people of Sindh,” Shah remarked, reaffirming the government’s commitment to meeting the province’s rising energy demands through clean and sustainable solutions.
