PESHAWAR: Peshawar Electric Supply Company (PESCO) has launched a new digital initiative by introducing QR codes on all electricity bills, allowing consumers to make payments quickly and conveniently through mobile devices.
Chief Executive Officer Akhtar Hamid Khan described the move as a major step toward digitalisation, aimed at improving customer facilitation and eliminating the need to visit banks.
“With QR codes now printed on every bill, consumers can simply scan the code and pay from the comfort of their homes at any time,” he said, adding that the system will help reduce long queues and streamline the payment process.
The initiative has been implemented in line with the directives of Sardar Awais Ahmed Khan Leghari to promote digital solutions in the power sector.
The CEO also acknowledged the support of Himayatullah Khan, whose leadership played a key role in executing the project.
Consumers can use mobile banking apps or digital payment platforms to scan the QR code printed on their bills. Upon successful payment, a confirmation message will be issued. PESCO has advised users to verify their details on the bill before making payments to ensure accuracy.
