Lahore: A high-level delegation of academic leaders from Bangladesh visited the Lahore University of Management Sciences (LUMS) to explore enhanced collaboration in higher education, research partnerships, and academic exchange programs across the region.
The delegation was led by Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed, Chairman of the University Grants Commission Bangladesh, and facilitated by the Higher Education Commission Pakistan. It included vice chancellors and senior representatives from leading public and private universities of Bangladesh.
The visit highlighted LUMS’ expanding international academic engagement, including participation in HEC education expos in Dhaka, Barishal, Rajshahi, Sylhet, and Chittagong, as well as its recently signed MoU with North South University and ongoing collaboration with the University of Chittagong.
During a meeting with LUMS Vice Chancellor Ali Cheema, Provost Tariq Jadoon, deans, and faculty members, discussions focused on expanding academic linkages through joint research initiatives, student and faculty exchanges, executive education programs, and cooperation in legal and policy studies.
Prof. Dr. Mamun Ahmed thanked the LUMS leadership for their hospitality, calling the visit a valuable platform for dialogue and knowledge sharing. He emphasized that stronger inter-university collaboration between Bangladesh and Pakistan is essential for advancing academic excellence, institutional development, and expanded opportunities for students across the region.
