ISLAMABAD: Oil & Gas Development Company Limited (OGDCL), Pakistan’s largest exploration and production (E&P) company, has announced the successful completion of the Chak 63-05 development well in the Chak field, located in District Sanghar, Sindh, marking another significant milestone in strengthening the country’s indigenous hydrocarbon production.
In a notification submitted to the Pakistan Stock Exchange (PSX) on Tuesday, OGDCL stated that production testing through a 32/64-inch choke yielded 600 barrels of condensate per day (BPD) and 10.5 million standard cubic feet of gas per day (MMSCFD), with a Wellhead Flowing Pressure (WHFP) of 2,580 psig.
The Chak 63-05 well was spudded on April 20, 2026, drilled to a total depth of 3,325 meters, and successfully completed in the Massive Sand reservoir.
OGDCL further informed that the well will soon be connected to the Sui Southern Gas Company (SSGC) transmission system, with activities already underway to ensure its early monetization and integration into the national gas network.
OGDCL operates the Chak lease with a 62.5% working interest, while Government Holdings (Private) Limited (GHPL) holds 22.5% and Orient Petroleum Inc. Limited (OPL) owns the remaining 15% stake.
The company said production from Chak 63-05 is expected to enhance Pakistan’s indigenous oil and gas supplies, support national energy security, and reinforce OGDCL’s commitment to sustainable growth, operational excellence, and long-term value creation for its stakeholders.
As Pakistan’s leading E&P company, OGDCL continues to play a pivotal role in the country’s energy sector through its extensive operations in exploration, drilling, production, reservoir management, and engineering services.
