# IMF Mission to Visit Pakistan Next Month for EFF, RSF Reviews
**ISLAMABAD:** An International Monetary Fund (IMF) staff mission is scheduled to visit Pakistan next month to conduct discussions on the **fourth review of the Extended Fund Facility (EFF)** and the **second review of the Resilience and Sustainability Facility (RSF)**.
According to official sources, the IMF mission will assess Pakistan’s economic performance during **January-June 2026** and begin negotiations for the release of the next tranche under the EFF and financing under the RSF.
The mission is expected to review several key areas, including **tax collection, energy-sector reforms, progress on the privatisation programme, governance and anti-corruption measures**. Transparency in appointments to key public institutions is also likely to feature prominently in the discussions.
Officials said that once IMF staff and Pakistani authorities reach a **Staff-Level Agreement (SLA)** on the EFF review and the relevant RSF review, the agreement will be submitted to the IMF Executive Board for approval.
Upon successful completion and board approval, Pakistan is expected to gain access to approximately **$1 billion under the EFF and $200 million under the RSF**. Pakistan has so far received around **$4.8 billion** under the two programmes.
The Ministry of Finance has directed relevant ministries and government departments to complete preparations and provide updated information on the implementation of commitments made under the IMF programme.
The mission is likely to begin its engagements in **Karachi with officials of the State Bank of Pakistan (SBP)** before moving to Islamabad for detailed discussions with the government’s economic team.
The upcoming review is expected to be closely watched as Pakistan seeks to maintain progress on fiscal consolidation, structural reforms and economic stabilisation under the IMF programme.
