PAKISTAN’S INDEPENDENCE DAY CELEBRATED WITH PATRIOTIC FERVOR IN ANKARA

The Embassy of Pakistan in Ankara commemorated the 79th Independence Day with a dignified flag hoisting ceremony. Pakistan’s Ambassador to Turkiye, Dr. Yousaf Junaid, hoisted the national flag to the resonating tune of the national anthem, in the presence of Embassy officials and members of Pakistani community.

The messages of the President and Prime Minister of Pakistan were read out. In their messages, the leadership highlighted Pakistan’s recent success in Marka-e-Haq, called it a defining moment that showcased national strength, unity and professionalism in the face of unjust Indian aggression.  The leadership reaffirmed their unwavering commitment to build a progressive and inclusive nation inspired by the ideals of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah and Allama Muhammad Iqbal. 

In his speech, Ambassador of Pakistan to Turkiye Dr. Yousaf Junaid paid tribute to the sacrifices of the nation’s founding leaders.  While reaffirming commitment to Pakistan’s peace, progress, and prosperity, Ambassador Junaid emphasized on the importance of unity and perseverance in shaping a brighter future. He reiterated Pakistan’s firm solidarity with the people of Indian Illegally Occupied Jammu & Kashmir and continued political, moral, and diplomatic support for their legitimate right to self-determination.

Ambassador Junaid highlighted that Pakistan’s success in ‘Marka-e-Haq’ and ‘Operation ‘Bunyan-um-Marsoos’ was a demonstration of unshakable national will, professional excellence and collective resolve. The victory has validated the Two Nation Theory, reigniting the spirit to honour the sacrifices of founding fathers by building a future worthy of their dreams, he added.

Ambassador Junaid thanked the Turkish leadership and people for their warm congratulatory messages on Pakistan’s Independence Day and everlasting solidarity with Pakistan. 

As a part of Pakistan’s Independence day celebrations, Ankara’s iconic landmark Atakule —situated on Jinnah Avenue will display messages of Pakistan-Turkiye solidarity throughout the evening. Istanbul’s renowned Bosphorus bridges will be illuminated in the colors of Pakistan’s flag, symbolizing the unbreakable bond between the two countries.
